The sensor is installed in the intake passage, and it measures the mass flow rate, temperature, and relative humidity of the air (new air) that flows (goes in)
to the engine from the outside.
The measurement signals from the sensor are transmitted to the ECU. The ECU uses the signals to control the throttle valve opening, fuel amount, and EGR amount.
