Hyundai KEFICO, Serious about Entering to Charger Manufacture… Transforming to Eco-Friendly Control Solution Specialized Company

Hyundai KEFICO (CEO Yu Yeongjong) opened an exhibition on charger technology for visitors from Hyundai Motor Company on September 7, where he announced the vision of starting charger manufacture and shared the status of technology development.

 As a major part affiliates of Hyundai Motor Company Group, Hyundai KEFICO is reorganizing its business structure from the focus on power train to specialization in charger for electric cars/power control and integrated vehicle control in order to respond to the appearance of future mobility and electrification of automobiles. With the foundation on the independent development and manufacture capability of power train control/control parts, Hyundai KEFICO has entered into the business of chargers for electric cars and developed charger system by internalizing core parts of chargers, such as power module and communication control device, with the goal of achieving the best safety, reliability, and convenience that no one can compete.
The high-speed charger system under development by Hyundai KEFICO is composed of power bank that converts AC/DC and charging post (dispenser) that manages the charging connection and communication of vehicle, accounting of users, and monitoring of charge amount. At the head with the super rapid charger of 360kW requiring the best technology, the corporation plans to respond to various charger demand by expanding line-ups of chargers to medium- speed (30kW), high-speed (120kW), and super rapid (240kW).

A visitor to the exhibition showed expectations “Hyundai KEFICO is recognized for its technology in the automobile industry where meeting the intensive quality standard is required. I’m looking forward to seeing the improvement in the quality and charge efficiency that has been a chronic issue in the charger development technology by Hyundai KEFICO”.

CEO Yu Yeongjong of Hyundai KEFICO announced, “We plan to realize a charging system with a superior level of completion using differentiated CS operation enabled by charger manufacture as well as charger management AP software development. Through this, we will contribute to strengthening the electric car competitiveness of Hyundai Motor Company Groups and increase investment in the expanding scope of service for customer satisfaction”.

Hyundai KEFICO is currently hitting its stride in the market entrance by building a cooperative structure of charger ecology with Hyundai Motor Company Groups, including Hyundai Motor Company, Hyundai Engineering, etc., is planning to release its new charger officially in the second quarter of the year 2023.
