Hybrid control unit (HCU) is a central control unit that determines the driving performance and energy efficiency of hybrid vehicles.
HCU controls elements directly related to driving, such as the engine, electric motor, battery charging and discharging, and regenerative braking. It also analyzes real-time data from various vehicle sensors, such as torque, output, and battery status, and transmit optimal control signals to each system.
HCU flexibly distributes power between the engine and motor to maximize fuel efficiency and select the most appropriate driving mode for the situation by comprehensively assessing driver requirements and vehicle conditions. Hyundai KEFICO is constantly advancing its technology to provide a smarter, more efficient driving experience that adapts to various road conditions and driving habits.
