EV Vehicle Control Unit

  • EV VCU (Vehicle Control Unit)

The electric vehicle control unit is a top-level unit that controls the overall driving and charging of the vehicle. As a key function, it receives data on the motor’s available torque, the battery’s available power, and the SOC (battery’s state of charge) to determine the status of the vehicle in real time, and the unit transmits the calculated values and signals to each system according to what the driver’s needs.
Besides controlling the motor and battery, it receives, calculates, and transmits data on the sensors and actuators for regenerative braking, load control, and more to optimally manage the vehicle’s overall status.

* Other functions: Full-length load power supply control, cluster display, DTE (Distance to Empty), analogue-digital signal processing and diagnostics, remote control, scheduled performance of functions
