VCMS is a product that controls all charging-related functions in an electric vehicle. It performs various functions such as: detecting the connection of the charging coupler, distinguishing between slow and fast charging, notifying the start of charging, locking/unlocking the actuator to prevent the coupler release during charging for user safety, and monitoring the inlet side temperature to prevent a fire due to the heat generation. In addition, the VCMS receives the PLC communication signal transmitted from the combo type charging device, and then converts it into a CAN communication signal. It also monitors the communication signals. Starting with Hyundai Kia Motors' vehicles in the first half of 2023, it will be mass-produced and applied to subsequent vehicles.
